Frequently Asked Questions

Wondering, pondering, deliberating? Your questions. Answered.

You may have many questions and queries that are burning away, especially if this is the first time you’ve considered lip fillers. Find your answer here, (if you don’t, get in touch and let’s talk about it).

What areas can be treated?

Lip fillers add both body and volume – this includes treatment of the edges of the lips. I always assess exactly what may be suitable for you, and the look you wish to achieve while maintaining a natural appearance.

Here’s a more detailed overview of the problem areas that your lip filler treatment can tackle:

  • Vermilion border or lip outline – for adding definition, width and improving lipstick bleed
  • The upper and lower lip – for balanced volume, body and fullness
  • Cupids bow – for added definition, shape and contouring

Will my lips look noticeably different?

This is absolutely down to you, and we’ll discuss the results that you’re looking for beforehand.

Are lip fillers suitable for everyone?

Lip fillers are suitable for almost all individuals. Lip fillers should be delayed if you’re pregnant or breast feeding.

They should also be delayed if you’ve had a recent outbreak of cold sores.

Should I expect the procedure to be painful?

I always apply a numbing cream prior to your treatment. This keeps any discomfort to a minimum.

How fast are the results?

You will see the results instantly, your lips will temporarily swell for a few days and then settle. You may see small bruises, the ultimate result can be appreciated after two weeks.

You should always arrange your lip fillers two weeks in advance of special events.

Will my lip fillers look natural?

I always approach my clients with a technique that achieves a natural look, using 0.5-2ml of dermal filler for both the top and bottom lip. Here are some of the guidelines I stick rigidly to, which ensure the best and the most beautiful of results:

  • The first and most basic rule: the lower lip will be fuller than the bottom.
  • Ensure that each injection is done with absolute precision.

How long will my lip fillers last?

Your treatment can last anything up to one year.

How much does it cost?

This will depend on the amount of filler you choose. Please see Pricelist page for more information.

Should I expect any side effects?

Swelling is the core side effect that you should expect, which is usually naturally resolved within a few days. In rare cases it can be longer, as the amount and longevity of swelling depends on your skin type. Any bruising will also clear within a matter of days.

Should I know anything about aftercare?

Aftercare is simple – avoid sunbeds and lipsticks for 24 hours.

Which dermal filler do you use?

Radiant for beautiful, long lasting results.
